Trip ends

We had a great trip to the NWT and Yukon a total of 17000km with no problems. It was very exciting and we took in excess of 800 pictures.

There was so many things to see and do most were fun some a pain in the ass, specially the 400+ km of gravel roads. Thanks to the shields I built, the truck and trailer survived without any damage from stones etc. most others on the trip had windshields broken.

We crossed the Yukon river 4 times on ferry boats and the Liard river twice. Due to lots of snow and rain in the mountains the rivers were very fast and high with trees floating past. Boarding and exiting the ferries was exciting because there were no actual ramps, just gravel river banks which they occasionally levelled with a bulldozer, fwd was definitely an advantage on several occasions.

We were able to watch several Grizzlies catching salmon in a river in Alaska, just over the border from Stewart BC. a place we would like to spend more time.

This is a dual purpose picture attached. It is taken in the NWT legislature building with a mounted Musk Ox and a bear in the background. The first purpose is to show we were there, the second purpose is Wendy teaching me how to Blog a picture.

I will now push the publish post to see if it will really work.

It really works.

The trip sounded wonderful. I enjoyed your visits on both ends of your trip.

The first visit to share my trip with you and the second to share your trip with me.
